Here’s my latest breakfast true love - warm, delicious, fluffy quinoa porridge.
Cook a pot of quinoa.
Warm half a cup with 1 whole egg and a scoop of Life’s Basics Vanilla protein powder to create a custardy texture. Throw in a little almond milk if needed.
Topped with walnuts, a bit of butter (or I can’t believe this stuff is in my house! unbutter spray), sugar-free syrup, unsweetened vanilla almond breeze and a lovin’ spoonful of almond butter.
Welcome to breakfast heaven; it’s warm and sweet here.

I can't get enough Life Basics, so good. I put it in my oat porridge but quinoa sounds even better. Hope the yoga training is going well!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds heavenly! Guess what's on the menu tomorrow morning? Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: do you eat this post workout or as an "anytime" meal whether you've worked out or not?
THat looks so comforting and nummy. My brother gave me a life-time suppoly of quinoa (aka a package from costco) so I should bust it out. When I first got it, I did what you did- have breakkie.
ReplyDeleteI also used my 'I can't believe it's in my House' spray today- on my popcorn that I dreamed was doused in truffle oil ....
Yum, trying to eat less wheat, and this recipe is PERFECT. Thanks Allie. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been a reader of PMPS for almost a year and finally decided to delurke. :)Your writing style always makes me smile! That bowl looks deelish. I love quinoa.

Ahh I love quinoa for breakfast! It's especially pretty when you use red quinoa. I think this recipe is calling my name, albeit with no eggs, but I'll make do!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really yummers. My recent breakky love is a mixture of sunflower seed butter and whipped cream cheese...on anything.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before and I'll say it again - You're a rock star! YUM!! I've done a breakfast porrige w/ TVP and it's just as yummy. (PS the I can't believe it's in my house spray is in my frige too :) )
ReplyDeleteThat sounds and looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIs it hard to cook quinoa?
It is yummers.
ReplyDeleteNikki, quinoa is even easier to cook than rice. Rinse, add water (2:1) and cook for 15 minutes. This could be a post-workout meal, but if the serving is small the carbs are okay for me.
love this idea! thank you... you're an inspiration!!!!
ReplyDeleteYUMM!! oh this looks totally addicting. i love the use of alternative grains for breakfast!! i swear, i always leave ur posts with a new recipe idea!! <3
