Because I eat mostly whole foods but supplement with protein shakes and protein snacks just isn't as catchy...

Pimp My Long Drawn Out Goodbye…

I hate long drawn out goodbyes. Unless, of course, such a goodbye contains multiple photos of food.

I was going to write about my amazing trip to spend some time with Smoothie Girl. She works out with intensity and energy of a demon unleashed from hell, putting my feeble uncoordinated attempts to fitness shame. You go girl!

And the truffle oil infused popcorn that we ate…

I won’t even get into the amazing lavash she exposed me to, only to tell me it is only available in Florida of all places. I {pink puffy glitter heart} Sami’s Bakery lavash.

I was going to write about how I was in Salt Lake a few weeks ago and had a drink with the super kind, adorable, well dressed and generous Janetha of Meals and Moves.

Thanks for the awesome coffee mugs dear!

I thought about writing about the butterscotch pudding I made.

I considered posting about making tofu croutons, a high protein crunchy salad topping.

I toyed with the idea of posting my workout drink, a yummy blend of Nuriche berry powder and Vega chocolate shake & go.

Why yes, that IS Curious George in the background. Thanks for noticing.

I came *this* close to writing about the chocolate pudding that rocked my world. Tofu, Jello pudding, protein powder and love.

But in the end, I’m writing to say see ya around campus sometime. I’m graduating from blogging here at Pimp My Protein Shake to the bigger picture of living my life away from the computer. It’s been a year and a half of bad puns, rare wit, lots of blending and a ridiculously full hard drive of poorly taken food photography. It’s time to say buh-bye to this blog that was taken a big bite out of my precious time. Thanks to each of you for reading, commenting, taking your time to send me emails – I hope at least one post has made you smile.

As for me, I’m finishing up the details of my yoga teacher certification and am now teaching spin to poor hapless souls. I’m continuing on my path of balance and health and hope you are too. No, I’m not crying as I type this; I’m actually smiling.

Hope to see you around sometime.

Cheers!

Allie

  8. Allie, just wanted to add my 'you'll be missed'. I found your blog a few months ago and while I only commented a few times I did read every day. I don't eat as healthy as all of the healthy bloggers do so I tend to just read but I do have a shake every day and I loved so many of you recipes. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. Good thoughts and wishes for your new ventures.

  10. All that I can say (aside from the fact that you're the only person who can get away with posting a photo of me on the internet in my nightgown and without a grain of makeup) is that I will miss you terribly.

You are a wonderful FABULOUS blogger. Creative, witty, intelligent, ingenious. Seriously, yours is a blog that many will return to again and again for recipes and laughs. I know that I'll be in touch with you personally, but I do love love love your blog and everything it is and was.

I totally understand you needing to actually go *ahem* and live your life. But if you ever want to come back, please know that you have a loving, adoring audience and fan base. And you always have a bed or a couch in PS or LA. :-)

  14. I'm a bad blogging parent. I set my blog in front a large LCD screen blaring cartoons with a box of Fruit Loops. On the upside, I'm outside on the lawn tossing tennis balls to my 5 year old.

Thank you so much for each of your comments! It's been fun. It's been wild. It's been a major time commitment...

    Love to all of you.

  15. at least you made sure to post one of the coolest ideas- tofu croutons!! wow what a ride, but i totally understand the importance of stepping away and just going with the flow of real life, and if that means u can un-retire later, than that will be the way its meant to be. you're such a wonderful person and ur posts have been incredible to read. now seize the day and let the rest of the world see such a beautiful, glowing spirit <3
